3 Simple Homemade Barbecue Sauce Recipes You’ll Love

Skip the store-bought barbecue sauce and try these super-easy homemade barbecue sauce recipes for your next cookout! Not only are they simple to make, you likely already have most of the ingredients on hand in your pantry.

Classic Homemade Barbecue Sauce Recipe

What you’ll need:

2/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar, loosely packed
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

Whisk all of the ingredients into a small saucepan over medium-low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Use immediately, or store in an air-tight mason jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Sweet & Spicy Barbecue Sauce

You’ll love this sweet & spicy barbecue sauce paired with chicken wings and shrimp!

What you’ll need:

1 1/2 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, loosely packed
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch of black pepper
2 generous dashes of hot sauce

Directions:

Whisk all of the ingredients into a small saucepan over medium-low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Use immediately, or store in an air-tight mason jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Maple Barbecue Sauce

Here’s your new go-to barbecue sauce for pulled pork.

What you’ll need:

1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar, loosely packed
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 teaspoon sea salt

Directions:

Whisk all of the ingredients into a small saucepan over medium-low heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Use immediately, or store in an air-tight mason jar in the refrigerator for up to one week.
